Obituary of James L. Pruett

James L. Pruett, 67, of 5781 S. Parker Street, and formerly of Bedford, passed away 9:50 P.M. Saturday, September 1st at his residence. Born on November 23, 1939 in Bedford, he was the son of Hubert L. Pruett and Geneva I. (Robbins) Pruett. He retired in 1995 from Pruett Manufacturing, Inc. and also owned Pruett Capital Ventures where he was still active until his death. A member of the Maryland Community Church he enjoyed cooking, playing music, photography, golf and was a quality tailor. He first married Darlene M. Hatfield in 1957 and she survives and then he married Donna Russell on April 4, 1999. Surviving with his wife, Donna, of Terre Haute are four children: Curtis E. Pruett Sr. and his wife, Ruby; Cathy Godsey and her husband, Ray Jr.; Randy S. Pruett Sr. and Tim J. Pruett all of Bedford; two step daughters: Traci Stoelting of Avon and Mandi Russell of Terre Haute; 16 Grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; one sister: Joyce Pemberton of Bedford and three brothers: Roy Pruett and his wife, Evelyn; Harley Pruett and his wife, Marie; Edward Pruett and his wife, Rose all of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Kenneth Larry Pruett and brother-in-law: Robert Pemberton. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 6th from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Pinhook Cemetery. Friends may call at Day & Carter Mortuary from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
