W. Matt Taylor- Funeral Director/ Co-Owner & Co-Manager
A 1986 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School, and a graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Service, Matt joined Day & Carter as a funeral director in 1991.
In January of 2025 Family Transition Partners purchased the funeral home from retiring owner, Brian Pace. They announced that Matt would be placed in the role of co-manager and co-owner continuing the tradition of excellence Day & Carter is known for.
Matt has two daughters; Kennedy and Felicity.
Brooke Horner-Hayes - Funeral Director/ Co-Owner & Co-Manager
Brooke is a 1998 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School and a 2001 graduate of Vincennes University. She joined the staff in May 2001. She and her family are active with Lawrence County 4-H.

Brooke and her husband Erick have a daughter, Harryson and a son, Chandler.
Joe Haworth - Funeral Director/ Co-Owner & Co-Manager
Joe joined the staff in September of 2005. He is a 1997 graduate of Shoals High School and a 2001 graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Service.

Joe and his wife Amy have a son, Jaydon and a daughter, Madison.
Cooper Holmes - Funeral Director
Cooper joined the staff in 2021. He is a 2020 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School and 2023 graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Service.
Cooper is married to Emma (Willoughby).
Debbie Richards - Office Manager
A 1975 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School, Debbie Richards joined the firm in 1992 after spending several years in the banking industry.
Debbie has two daughters, Julie and Kelly, and six grandchildren.
Olivia Kelley - Family Services Advisor
Olivia joined our staff in February of 2023. She is a Bedford North Lawrence High School 2021 graduate.
Olivia is married to Coleman Kelley.
Brian C. Pace - Former Owner/President
Bedford native Brian Pace joined the firm in 1989 after graduating from Vincennes University with an A.S. degree in Funeral Service. He graduated earlier from Princeton Community High School in 1982 and from Vincennes University in 1984 with an A.S. degree in Accounting.
In January of 2025, with more than 42 years of being involved in funeral service and 35 years at Day & Carter, Brian announced his retirement. He transferred ownership of the firm to Family Transition Partners, a small, privately owned funeral provider. In protecting Day & Carter's legacy, Family Transition Partners announced that long time funeral directors W. Matt Taylor, Brooke Horner Hayes and Joe Haworth would share co-ownership and co-management of the firm.
Brian and his wife, Mary Ann have a daughter, Holley Vaughn; a son, David C. Pace; three granddaughters, Valerie Vaughn, Vivienne Vaughn, Scarlett Pace; and three grandsons, Henry Vaughn, Theodore Pace, and Charles Vaughn.
