Brian C. Pace - President & Funeral Director

Bedford native Brian Pace joined the firm in 1989 after graduating from Vincennes University with an A.S. degree in Funeral Service. He graduated earlier from Princeton Community High School in 1982 and from Vincennes University in 1984 with an A.S. degree in Accounting.

Brian and his wife, Mary Ann have a daughter, Holley Vaughn; a son, David C. Pace; three granddaughters, Valerie Vaughn, Vivienne Vaughn, Scarlett Pace; and three grandsons, Henry Vaughn, Theodore  Pace, and Charles Vaughn.



David C. Pace - Corporate Secretary & Funeral Director

David joined the firm in September 2013 after finishing his B.S. Degree in Funeral Service from Mid-America Funeral College. He is a 2010 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School, and graduated from Vincennes University with an A.S. Degree in Business Administration before attending Mortuary School.

David and his wife Melinda (Steiner) live in Bedford and have a son Theodore Charles and a daughter Scarlett Joy. 



W. Matt Taylor- Funeral Director

A 1986 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School, and a graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Service, Matt joined Day & Carter as a funeral director in 1991.

Matt is married to Amber (Morrow) and has two daughters; Kennedy and Felicity.



Brooke Horner-Hayes - Funeral Director

Brooke is a 1998 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School and a 2001 graduate of Vincennes University. She joined the staff in May 2001. She and her family are active with Lawrence County 4-H.

Brooke and her husband Erick have a daughter, Harryson and a son, Chandler.



Joe Haworth - Funeral Director

Joe joined the staff in September of 2005. He is a 1997 graduate of Shoals High School and a 2001 graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Service.

Joe and his wife Amy have a son, Jaydon and a daughter, Madison.



Debbie Richards - Office Manager

A 1975 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School, Debbie Richards joined the firm in 1992 after spending several years in the banking industry.

Debbie has two daughters, Julie and Kelly, and six grandchildren.



Lisa Gillespie 

Lisa joined our staff in August of 2002 and retired in August of 2022 after 20 years at Day & Carter. We appreciate everything Lisa did for our firm and congratulate her on her retirement
