Mr. Miles was a true gentleman. He stopped by my office frequently at First Baptist Church, and his visits always made my day. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

My wife Jean and I were saddened to hear of Kenny's death. I grew up with Kenny and lived only about three houses from him in North Vernon. We often walked together to and from school, and we played games in our basement many Saturday afternoons. Kenny and I took up the collection at the First Baptist Church while we were in high school -- and he devised a way of skipping out of the rest of the church service without anyone noticing it. Then, we would race to Matthews Drug Store to meet our friends. And I recall going to the basketball sectionals in Greensburg with Kenny and Marion Tatlock and Windy Huffman Powell and Juanita Boicourt King. That was in 1942 and the North Vernon Panthers were destined to lose again. Between games, we ate hamburgers and played "String of Pearls" on the juke box about twenty times, laughing the minutes away until it was times to return to the gymnasium. Such moments were unimportant then, but they are treasured memories today. Kenny will be greatly missed. Our sincere condolences to the family.
