Obituary of Etta Jean May

Bedford Etta Jean (Silvers) May, 81, of Bedford, died at 1:30 am on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Garden Villa. Born March 13, 1928, she was the daughter of William and Polly Silvers. She married Bill M. May and he preceded her in death in 1978. She retired from Indiana Bell Telephone/ATT after working for thirty years in Bedford and Bloomington. She then worked for ten years at Bedford Medical Center. She was a member of the Oolitic Methodist Church, the Telephone Pioneers of Indiana and was actively involved in the C.W.A.. Survivors include one son, Douglas K. May and wife, Vicki (Kneisel) May of Nashville, IN; two grandchildren, G.M. Kent May of Orlando, FL and Sarah Tess May of West Lafayette, IN; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Roberts of Bedford; one brother, Tracy Silvers and wife, Hazel of Bedford; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Silvers and Sandra Lovell both Bedford, Judy Silvers of Bloomington. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Desda Blackburn and four brothers, Carl, Jim, William (Shorty) Silvers and Bobby Lovell. Funeral Information Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 28th at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Burial will follow. Friends may call from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 27th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
