Meet Michael back when I was 17 and he was 19 stationed here at Fort Riley Kansas known back then as the Big Red One. In the end August of 1990 I was sitting outside of Pinita's Mexican restaurant and he was driving down the main drag back in the day with his friend Calvin Whitaker. How the memory allows someone to remember ever detail of how we met. We found out that we were going to be parents just before Halloween that year and in November found out they were shipping you Iraq ( operation desert storm was the name for that) Got to met Your mom and dad ( The Perry's) that December that year just a few days before you got sent off to war.. oohh how remembering watching you walking out of the hanger onto the plane you being so brave and so strong. So much in between had went on with all the scares worries and you not being here was a lot but we got threw it with letters back and forth.You returned back just a few months before our baby boy was due and we got our apartment and begin living a life together. Going to the doctor's appointments and getting ready for our bundle of joy was one of the best things to watch. New you was going to be a great daddy. Birth day came and once again you were so brave and so strong for the both of us. After about 48 hours of labor our little bouncing bundle of joy was here looking just like his daddy. That day you became the I and our little became the II. Michael. Words cand not begin to express the feeling the hurt the sadness the this can't be true when our son messaged to say you have passed on. You were a very big part of my past threw all the good times and all the not so great times you gave me so much happiness a Great father to our son. You raised him into the man he is today and show him how to be a loving compassionate husband and the greatest hard working caring giving all around best father he can be to his two daughters. You was his father his teacher and his best friend. You will forever be in my heart.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Mike’s passing. I just found out Thursday evening. I have great memories of Mike, Bert Bakker, Justin Mann and myself all hanging out together and having a good time. I remember him coming to do a ride along with me when I was at the Bedford Police Department. We had a really good time.

So sorry to hear of the loss to the Bowden family. Please accept our deepest sympathy, sorrow, and sincere condolences. Patti and I met Michael and his sons, Mikey and Jayden, in 1998, while serving the Army in Wiesbaden Germany. Michael, a fellow Army Veteran, woodworker, and great friend, will truly be missed. Attached are some of our fondest memories. Michael, was always joking, (Junior Ranger hat, returning me to the At Home Store, having fun in the Christmas aisle, hunting for mushrooms, and just hanging out). Miss you Michael. Patti & Jim.

I am so sorry for your loss to Mikes family. So many good years at bluespring and I still struggle with his loss. Mike distance and time may have seperated us, but you will remain a most dear friend of my youth.
