Obituary of Donna Strunk

Donna Jean (Root) Strunk passed away December 17, 2021 at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by loved ones. Born Oct 31st 1949 in Valparaiso, IN. She was the daughter of Lebert and Dona Root who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and married Delbert Strunk who preceded her in death. Together they shared a son Alvin (Jaimee) Strunk and he survives. In addition to her son, Alvin, Donna is survived by two grandchildren, Daniel Strunk and Jordan Strunk. Siblings Ben Root, Jerry Root, Mike (Jody) Root, Deborah (Steve) Cain, Doris Weaver, and several nieces and nephews. In her younger years, Donna enjoyed spending time with her beloved Dachshunds, fishing with her husband, and just spending time with her family on road trips or camping. Donna enjoyed reading a good romance novel or sitting on the front porch of her Springville home talking to the neighbors and waving at everyone that went down the road. She never met a stranger always welcome to share a drink or sit on the porch. Donna was a great story teller and would share a story anytime someone would listen. Donna spent her last years in the care of Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She spoke highly of her care and she loved the staff and the staff loved her. She is loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Please consider donations be made in Donnas' memory to the efforts to restore the Springville gymnasium in Springville, Indiana. Donations can be made to Gym Restoration Board and mailed to Gym Restoration, Springville Post Office, Springville, IN 47462. Day and Carter Mortuary will be handling all arrangements and donations may be sent to them for Gym Restoration also. Graveside Services and a Celebration of Life will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 30th at Springville Cemetery West. Immediately following the service, everyone is invited to the Springville Community Shelter House and Park for food and fellowship. Please come celebrate Donna’s life with her friends and family.
