Our sincere condolences to the entire family. Donna was a sweet lady that we were proud to call her our Friend.

I remember my sister loved animals. She was constantly bringing home animals such as a chiwawa, that nobody else could touch but Donna. Once a stray pregnant mutt wandered in . Donna made me follow that dog around until I found where the puppies were. They were hidden under an abandoned car. She made me crawl under there and get them. Dad made us put them in box when they were old enough and took them to Feltza store in Valporaiso and gave him away for free. I remember multiple wild dogs that she tamed. They had varied names: Sam, named after the man across the street, Cujo (after movie about a mad dog), after I came home from the Army. Queenie belonged to relative who moved to Vegas and couldn't take her. I don't ever remember buying dog food; Donna would bring home scraps from where ever she worked. I remember Donna graduating from high school, only because I saw a picture of her in a cap and gown. I was 10 or 11 years old. Supposedly kids were not allowed to go to graudations then, at least that was what Dad said, so the memory is alittle foggy. I remember Aunt Lucille bought her an outfit to go look for a job. Times were hard back then. That was when we lived on Factory Street in Vapo. Michael D. Root, her youngest Brother.

The very first time I met Donna, she took me for a ride down Fayetteville road in an old Station wagon she owned, thing is that the car had no shocks to speak of and she drive like a nut! Scared the mess outta me! I loved donna like she was my own sister and this "ride" became a long running joke between us, she is free now and no longer in pain. This alone allows me to smile. Love you sis, we will meet again
