Family, So sorry for your loss. I was in the 1975 & 1976 Class Years. I was his "go-to" painter when everybody decided they didn't want their hair messed up. For 2 years I remember the words "Now, Men..." this and "Now, Men..." that. We always spent Friday before we would go home being reminded, "Men, Don't forget to take 'Molly' to church on Sunday." I guess those were the good ole days and I just didn't realize it.

Beth and Su Lynn, I am so sad to read the news of your Dad's passing. I echo all of the sentiments written by my brother Mike. He outlined our childhood days at the Harrell's next door elegantly on Mt. Pleasant Road. I have such fond and wonderful memories of our time at Ralph and June's enjoying being a kid, our trips to Jack's for ice cream in the Betsy Suz Model T in the rumble seat. Ralph and June have a very special place in my heart as they had a huge impact on my early years. Their presence on earth will be missed but their impact on my life lives on. I pray for comfort and peace for you and your families during this difficult time. Love, Robyn (Cobb) Garland

Beth (Betsy) & Su Lynn (Suz) - I am so saddened to read of the recent loss of your Father. Bedford and, for that matter, the world just lost another truly great human being. Your Father didn’t practice his faith but lived it - lived it every single minute of every day. It wasn’t a part of him; it was all of him. I still carry the fond memories of seeing Ralph take my younger sisters on a joy ride around our neighborhood in the rumble seat of the BetsySuz; always with hoots of the horn that brought giggles from everyone involved. A ride in the Betsy Suz was an honor Ralph joyfully bestowed on all our playmates when ever playfulness was the rule of the day. Those times of our youth when we shared being neighbors together playing Red Light-Green Light and Olly Olly Oxen Free or taking our sleds down Mt Pleasant the moment a Snow Day was declared and only retiring when your Mom would call you both to bed were among the best in my life.
For those who may have missed this article on Ralph from a few years ago; it is a good read.

Suzy and Beth, so sorry for you as you go through this difficult time. There will be times you will be overwhelmed when you realize he’s not there to talk or ask him things. The awesome part is he’s made his heavenly journey to be with all his loved ones. We won’t be able to attend due to health problems. Please know our love and prayers will be with you now and in the days ahead.

Ralph and June Harrell and family initiated me into “Hoosier life” and I was blessed to share happy times around the family table and participating in Easter Egg hunts! Ralph was the combination of an “honest man of toil” and exceptional gifts. Deeply attached to God, family, church, community, and friends, he spent his days zealously attending to these beloved. Ralph Harrell, your star is still shining! So glad to have known you!

What a pleasure to get to meet Ralph and Suz this summer at White River Lodge. Something stopped me in my tracks when I saw this kind looking man. No wonder, he was my Dad’s uncle and the resemblance was clear. Just to think of him now evokes a smile. What a blessing! My deepest sympathies to Suz and the entire family. I’m sure he will be greatly missed.

Ralph was a distant cousin through the Harrell lineage. He oversaw the Cornett Cemetery in Jackson County where his family and some of my family (Callahan & Crouch) are buried. Thank you, Ralph, for volunteering and thank you to Suz for continuing this service.

I sure do miss seeing Mr. Harrell driving his mower with Roxie right behind him on their daily walks down Spring Drive. Also miss the honking horn of his old yellow classic car. He and June were such wonderful people and good neighbors. Hugs to you, Su Lynn.

I would not be where I am without Ralphs guidance .. He called me asking me to follow his Teaching Path .. He believed in me and encouraged me ... Here I am ... so sorry we couldn't have another conversation together ... And yes I do still carry Molly's picture ... The inspiration he gave me is what inspires the same in return ... Ralph Harrell is a great man ...
