Obituary of Thomas Loyal Miller

Bedford – Thomas Loyal Miller, 80, of Bedford, passed away at 2:10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at his residence. Born January 18, 1941 in Danville, IL, he was the son of Jack L. and Agnes (Latoz) Miller. He married Janice Gayle “Jodi” Julian on September 29, 1969 and she survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force from 1959 to 1963. He retired as a pressman for the Herald-Times Newspaper on December 1, 2002 after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Bedford Boat & Sportsman’s Club and the Cecil Martin Post #250 American Legion. Thomas’ favorite saying is “he worked for 4 newspapers, had 3 children, 2 wives and 1 helluva good time.” Survivors include his wife, Jodi; three children, Karrie Young (Lisa Daugherty), Sam Miller (Kristy) and Kristina Baker (Troy); grandchildren, Ashley Cloud (Sam), Brentlee Daugherty, Drew Baker, Scott Miller, Evan Baker, Tyler Miller, and Cole Baker; great grandchildren, Brody and Eli Cloud; a sister, Sally Hanson (Bill); long-time friend, Kenny Wagoner. He was preceded in death by his parents. His wishes were to be cremated. A memorial gathering will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 22nd at the Day & Carter Mortuary. A private family service will be at St. John’s Episcopal Church at a later date. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Bedford Boat Club Scholarship Fund.
