This is especially for his grand-daughter, Ashley Cloud but I hope it brings solace to all who loved this man. Ashley, you spoke of this man so vividly and so lovingly that I feel as though I knew him. Please know that in this way, sharing memories and stories, he will remain very much alive in your heart and he will be remembered with love and reverence by all who hear about him from you because you continue to share the love he shared with you. I know you miss him and there is a hole in your heart that you feel may never heal. Please treat your grief gently and allow your heart the time it needs to cherish the many wonderful memories that still allow you to smile through the tears. You are blessed to be a blessing to others because of the lessons of caring and kindness shared with you by your grandfather. You are a tribute and a testimony to him and I see that the soul of this man continues to live in you. God bless.

Tom was a great boss and friend, had so much fun playing cards with him and Jodi. He would make paper airplanes for our kids and fly them around the house for them. Just a fun and witty person to be around. RIP Tom you will be missed by all!

Tom was my first boss at the Herald-Telephone.He taught me a lot about the press and life. I loved working with him so much.I told my Daughters about him passing and they both have very fond memories of Tom. He always treated me and my family with the up most respect. Their were times I would come in to work and say to him I would like the day off and he would say"Damn why didn't I think about that" he never once turned me down.I have a thousand memories of of Tom and I can't remember one bad. Bottom line Tom liked to have a good time. RIP Tom

My heartfelt condolences to all of you. There are so many memories: promising us ice cream and dragging them outside on the front porch because we didn't get any. His super hot chili. The dancing.
