Obituary of James B. Wesner

James B. “Jimmie” Wesner, 86, of Leesville died at 7:26 pm on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at his residence. Born July 28, 1934 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Anthony and Lena (Lockman) Wesner. He married JoAnne Brown on April 3, 1953, and she survives. He retired from Kieffer Paper Mill. He was a member of the Leesville United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife JoAnne of Leesville, one son, Alan Wesner and his wife Niki of Leesville; two daughters: Angela Bond and her husband Gary of Leesville, and Amber Arthur and her husband Steve of Bloomington; six grandchildren: Brandon Wesner and his wife Jessica of Leesville, Travis Wesner and his wife Samantha of Leesville, Codey Bond of Bowling Green, KY, Shelby Arthur of Bloomington , Hope Bond of Evansville, and Sean Arthur of Bloomington; two step grandchildren: Stephen Arthur and his wife Renate` and Kaitlyn Arthur, all of Kokomo; five great grandchildren: Taylor Wesner, Clayton Wesner, Wyatt Wesner, Frankie Wesner, and Alena Arthur; step great grandchild, Cameron Arthur; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Gay Anne Wesner; two grandsons, Landon and Dylan Bond two sisters, Violet Gibson, and Maggie Dixon, one brother, Carroll Wesner. Private funeral services will be conducted at a later date at the Leesville United Methodist Church with Rev. George Browning and Rev. Deborah Cronin officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 10th at the Leesville United Methodist Church. Due to the COVID -19 and the governor’s mandate masks will be required for all guests. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leesville United Methodist Church.
