Obituary of Sandra C. Young

Bedford – Sandra C. Young, 81, of Bedford, died Monday, October 14, 2019 at her residence.

Born November 1, 1937 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Ed and Edith (Stephenson) Cain. She married Bobby G. Young on August 4, 1955 and he preceded her in death on February 27, 1995. She was the manager for Bertha’s Mission and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three daughters, Bobbi Roy and husband, Bill, of Urbana, IL, Beverly Beasley and husband, Kenny, Polly Craig and husband, Kevin, all of Bedford; five grandchildren, Teela Ann Beasley, Patrick Dean Craig and wife, Mandy, William Edward Roy and wife, Colleen, Kara Jo Hohimer and husband, Eric, William McColley Young and wife, Brenna; great grandchildren, Charlie Jo Craig, Chesney Grace Craig, Norah Grace Young, Logan William Young, and soon to be baby Hohimer; sisters-in-law, Donna Cain and Anna Ruth Young; aunt, Mary Lou Stephenson; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, William “Billy” Young; a grandson, Matthew Craig; a brother, J.D. Cain; a brother-in-law, Jimmie D. Young.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, October 18th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Reno Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Gilgal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 17th and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
