Obituary of Martha L. Crouch

Bedford – Martha L. Crouch, 96, of Bedford died Sunday, March 13, 2016 at her residence. Born March 20, 1919 in Bedford, she was the daughter of William Robert and Leona Myrtle (Stephenson) Grafton and Granddaughter of Eli B. and Martha Stephenson. She married William Loren Crouch on October 10, 1937 and he preceded her in death on November 23, 1984. She was a homemaker and a former member of the Leatherwood Christian Church and a current member of First Christian Church. She was a volunteer Pink Lady at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital, member of Red Hats, Honorary member of Stone City Square Dance Club, former member of LAMBDA CHI OMEGA Sorority, Bedford Hiking Club and a graduate of Shawswick High School class of 1937. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Jane Roach and Wanda Jones and husband, Merian, all of Bedford; three grandsons, Kevin Jones and wife, Leona, Randy Roach and wife, Melinda, and James William Roach and wife, Shannon; a granddaughter, Karen Jones Billberry and husband, Vincent, several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Roger and John Grafton. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 19th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with James Buher and Rev. Alan Cloar officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 18th, and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the hour of service at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
