Bedford Zachery Dwight Gary, 21, of 8035 State Road 158, Bedford, died Saturday, December 15, 2007.Born December 26, 1985 in New Albany, IN, he was the son of Dwight Terrance (Terry) Gary and Sharon Huber. He graduated with the class of 2005 from Bedford North Lawrence High School where he was a member of the football, wrestling, and track teams. He was a member of Hillcrest Christian Church.He was a member of the U.S. Army serving for two years with the 82nd Airborne stationed out of Ft. Bragg, NC. He returned to the United States in October of 2007 from sixteen months of active duty in Iraq. He was promoted to Specialist and received The Army Commendation Medal to commemorate his meritorious service during combat operations in support of Iraqi Freedom. He was currently home on leave.Survivors include his mother and step-father, Sharon and Brian Huber of Bedford; one sister, Tara Maegan Gary of Bedford; two brothers, Drake and Brax Huber of Bedford; paternal grandmother, Betty Gary of New Albany, IN; maternal grandparents, Bill and Marlene Harter of Pekin, IN; paternal step-grandparents, Ralph and Betty Huber of New Salisbury, IN; maternal great-grandmother, Ruby Pember of Clarksville, IN; paternal step-great grandmother, Flossie Amburn of Marengo, IN; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Dwight Terrance (Terry) Gary; his paternal grandfather, W.T. Gary; his paternal great grandmother, Marie Torrance and his maternal great grandmother, Georgia Johnson. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 20th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Darrick Willoughby will be officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 19th and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday, December 20th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. View Video Tribute
