Granddaughters: Amy Wilmot and Alisha Johnson posted a condolence

Two days have passed since our last farewell but ten long days since we held your hand. Although tears were shed each time, we know you have no more pain or sorrow. You and Grandpa are side by side once again, holding hands and reminiscing. All the memories that have been treasured throughout the years can never be forgotten nor replaced. Nothing will ever compare to the love you both showed me and my sister throughout the years. Each one of us will always have our special memories of Grandma and Grandpa Johnson that will live in our hearts forever.
"We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name, In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories; your love is still our guide, And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. ~Anonymous "We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name, In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same. Seeds in the Garden The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable. I Corinthians 15:44
Some of the believers at Corinth had questions about what happens when people die. How was this resurrection thing going to work? The Holy Spirit gave Paul a good picture to paint for them, a new way of thinking about death.
First of all, God is God, and were not, and He doesnt owe us any explanations about how, when, or where He does anything. But in His grace and mercy, He provides answers like this little illustration to calm our fearful and unbelieving hearts. Its a picture from the wonderful world He has made that we would have seen right away if only our reason and our senses hadnt been clouded by sin.
What happens when you dig a hole and drop in a seed? Well, thats what happens to us when we die. A seed dropped into a hole in the ground might think: This is terrible! Im DOOMED! Its the END! But its only the beginning! Come summer, instead of a little seed, theres a big beautiful plant thats nothing like what was put in the hole and buried. Now, imagine its a flower seed. That means people who have died believing in Jesus are just waiting for summer so they can bloom like the lilies of the field!
Dear God: Grant that, after You plant me, I may bloom in Your presence forever. Amen.
