Raymond D. Cheek Raymond D. Cheek, 66, of 2485 Ramsey Ridge; Heltonville, passed away at 4:53 PM Saturday, February 2, 2008 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center.Born on September 21, 1941 in Needmore, IN he was the son of Roy L. Cheek and Winnie (Godsey) Cheek. He was a graduate of Needmore High School in 1959 and then enlisted in the Army. During his army days he was recruited into the Central Intelligence Agency and spent many years overseas. He retired from the Central Intelligence Agency in 1982 then spent 15 years as assistant manager at Pfieffer Jewelry Store in Bedford. He was presently employed by Securitas Security Service at G.M. as Chief of Security. He is a life member of FOP Stone City Lodge and enjoyed golfing; fishing and all family get-togethers. He married Diane (Pollert) Fender, the love of his life and best friend, on October 29, 1983 and she survives.Surviving with his wife, Diane of Heltonville are four children: Debra Windham and her husband, Andy of Oglethorpe, GA; Patricia (Sierra) Vavra and her husband, Jake of Coral Springs, FL; Jackie Fender Jr. and his wife, Jodie of Bedford, IN and LaDonna Lee and her husband, Morgan of Bedford; grandchildren: George and Jessica Windham, Dustin Fender, Elizabeth and Eli Lee; step grandchildren: Corey Inman, little Morgan Lee, Evan and Brady Martin and Noah and Sidney Carlile; sisters: Faye Carter, Rosalie Hammond and Catheleen Nelson and her husband, Connie all of Bedford, IN; brothers: Frank Cheek and his wife, Sue of Needmore, IN Dale Cheek and his wife, Brenda of Monticello, IN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Effie Grace, Mae Ingle and Ailene in infancy. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 7th from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Fred Barger officiating. Burial will follow in the Dive Christian Cemetery where military rites will be accorded at the grave by members of the American Legion Gillen Post #33. Friends may call on Wednesday, February 6th from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday, February 7th from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour. View Video Tribute
