Obituary of Catherine Butler

Catherine Butler Catherine Butler, 89, a resident of Lawrence County all of her life, passed away on Thursday, December 6th at the home of her daughter in Bristow, VA. Born on March 14, 1918 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Harrison B. Grimes and Rose (Nickless) Grimes. She retired from Sarkes-Tarzian and was a homemaker and a member of Hilltop Pentecostal Church for over 50 years. She married Raymond Fred Butler on January 18, 1936 and he preceded her in death on June 29, 1992. Surviving are two daughters: Kay Webb of Bristow, VA and Myra Faye Graves and her husband, Allen Buzz of Danville, IN; two sisters: Gertrude Wright of San Gabriel, CA and Betty Summers of Columbus, IN; a special friend: Barbara Pierce of Bedford, IN and a special girl: Donna Sue Callahan Summers of Gosport, IN; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son: Reggie Lavern Butler; three brothers: Riley Grimes, William Harold Grimes and Benjamin H. Grimes, Jr. and two sisters: Farrell Ebert and Dorothy Henderson Pickhart. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 12th from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Bill Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends can call at Day & Carter on Tuesday, December 11th from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Pallbearers serving will be Mike Webb, Randy Webb, Kevin Webb, Wade Chalfont, Greg Pardo and Buzz Graves with Honorary Pallbearers being Doug Westhead and Guy Dionne.
