Obituary of Shirley L. Wildman
Bedford Shirley L. Wildman, 73, of Trinity Springs, died at 12:01 pm on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at I.U. Health Bedford.
Born May 17, 1938 in Winfield, KS, she was the daughter of Elwin Ray and Virginia (Lake) Pickens. She married Warren Wildman on February 17, 1957 at the Englewood Baptist Church by James Stevens and he renewed their vows 50 years later. Shirley founded the Bedford Girls Club and was a longtime board member; she was a car hop at Leonards and a homemaker. She was baptized in the Muscatatuk River in Seymour and attended Midtown Church of Christ. She loved showing horses with her daughter and granddaughters. She was a phenomenal cook, famous for her cookies, enjoyed her garden and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Survivors include; her husband, Warren, one son; Warren Lee Wildman, Jr. and wife Betsy of Kingston Springs, TN, one daughter; Valerie Lynn Gentry and husband Sanford of Bedford, four grandchildren; Catherine (Gentry) Greenwood and husband Ben of Bedford, Nicklas Wildman of Florence AL, Amanda Wildman of Tuscaloosa, AL, Abigail Gentry of Bedford, three sisters; Ruth Walters and Janice Romine, both of Bedford, Cheryl Tieman of Owensburg, four brothers; Ray Pickens of Danville, Jim Pickens, Joe Pickens, and John Pickens, all of Bedford. A memorial will be held at 7:30 pm on Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm 7:30 pm on Friday at the mortuary. Donations Information
