Obituary of Dorothy May Humes

Bedford - Dorothy May Humes, 77 of Bedford died at 3:25 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at her home, with her husband and daughter by her side. Born September 26, 1933 in Monroe County Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Edley and Nora Williams. She was married on November 5th 1954 to Gene Burnell Humes. Other than her husband, survivors also include a son Reed Humes and his wife Gabriela of Mesa, AZ and a daughter Shawna Andrews and her husband Ken, of Atlanta, GA. Two grandaughters Nichole Marie, of Mesa, AZ and Skylar Lauren, of Atlanta GA., a brother Benny Williams, of Nashville, TN, and preceding her in death brothers Donald and Dossey Williams of KY. Dorothy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bedford. A past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, and was retired from Stone City Products in 1997. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 4th at Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary of Bedford with Reverend Dr. Kregg Burris officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 3rd at the mortuary.
