Obituary of Earl E. Bennett
Bedford Earl E. Bennett, 86, of Bedford, and formerly of Springville, died at 1:00 am on Thursday, May 25, 2006 at the home of his daughter in Bloomington surrounded by all of his children and grandchildren.
Born October 5, 1919 in Monroe Co., he was the son of Ivan and Florence (Perkins) Bennett. He married Emma Grace Skinner on July 3, 1946 and she preceded him in death on July 4, 1998. He was retired from NWSC CRANE and then farmed for thirty years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II and a member of the New Hope Community Church in Bedford.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Childers and her husband, Ronnie and Carole Bennett all of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Kori Childers, Kenny Childers and his wife, Terra, Kandi Krothe and her husband, Jason, Jamie Hancock and her husband, Jeff, Shely Bennett, Joshua Bennett, Michael Bennett and his wife, Stephanie; eight great grandchildren, Denisa, Lynndsey, Emma, Grace, Mason, Lucy, Caleb and Parker; one sister, Louise Settles of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma, his parents, one brother, Emery Bennett, two sisters, Geneva Beasley and Jeannette Hidlebaugh. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 27th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Doug Martin and Marty Speer officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 26th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
