Obituary of Gregory T. Srygler
Bloomington Gregory T. Gig Srygler, 62, of 2950 W. Thrasher Road, Bloomington, IN, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011.
Born October 28, 1948 in Bedford, he was the son of Harry T. and Gloria Hope (Colvin) Srygler. He was a graduate of Bedford High School with the class of 1967. He graduated from Barber College in Florida in 1974. He married Margaret Peggy Gramm-Srygler on May 5, 2004 and she survives. He retired as a clerk from the U.S. Postal Service and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. serving during the Vietnam War where he received two purple hearts and two Navy commendations. He was a member of the Bloomington Eagles, Burton-Woolery American Legion Post #18 of Bloomington, V.F.W., Am Vets, the Bedford Boat & Sportsmans Club and the Masonic Lodge #440 F & AM of Eminence, IN and was a Boy Scout.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy, of Bloomington; a brother, Terry Srygler of Bedford; nephews, John, Jim and Terry Srygler; an aunt, Patsy Sutton of Indianapolis and an uncle, Ron Colvin of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Srygler. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Monday, April 11th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Clarence Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Clover Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg where military rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm on Sunday, April 10th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Masonic services will be conducted at 5:00 pm.
