I first met Karen when she was a graduate student at Indiana University. She was working with the Artically Talented Program and later worked with Project Arts along with Enid Zimmerman and Gilbert Clark. She then married Bernard Berea and moved to Northern Indiana. Karen was a very giving person. She had a great interest in art and art education. She shared both a talent for math and art with fellow colleagues and students. I know she will be missed by her students, friends, and most of all her family.

My heart goes out to the whole family. Karen was co-worker and friend. I have missed her at the North Lawrence Career Center. I have wonderful memories to have forever, trips to the fair, lunches, and her cats. Watching swim meets and walking around as we solved our little world's problems. I admire her artistic side, her dedication to her family, and her love of teaching. If there is anything I can do to help, I am not far away. 812-797-6000. Karen was a very special person in my life, her energy will live on through her paintings, her children and our memories.
With love and genuine care, Angie Timan
