Obituary of Betty L. Reed

Bedford Betty L. Reed, 82, of Bedford, died at 9:20 pm on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at Garden Villa Nursing Home in Bedford.Born July 23, 1925 in Sellersburg, IN, she was the daughter of Robert and Louise (Bowyer) Farnsley. She married Dr. Orville K. Fleming and he preceded her in death in 1978. She later married John Reed and he survives. She was a homemaker and had worked at the Wells Shop of Fashion in Bedford for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bedford and the Elks Lodge. Survivors include her husband, John of Bedford; one daughter, Marsha C. Fleming of New Albany, IN; two sons, Mark A. Fleming of Muncie, IN and Kirk D. Fleming of Indianapolis, IN; six grandchildren, Nicole Deffenbaugh, Shannon Newman, Shay Kirkpatrick, Stephanie McCrea, Seth Hickerson and Sarah Hickerson; nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, one daughter, Charlene K. Richason and one sister, Rosemary Amos. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 22nd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Tim Ahlemeyer officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 21st at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
