Obituary of Linvel Warren Ray

Bedford Linvel Warren Ray, 85, of Bedford, died at 1:10 am on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at the Core Nursing Home in Bedford. Born November 27, 1919 in Dugger, IN, he was the son of Samuel J. and Edna (Bartlett) Ray. He married Irene Fry on June 21, 1941 and she survives. He was retired from the U.S. Army and North Lawrence Community School Corp. He was a member of the Avoca Baptist Church, a former member of the First Baptist Church of Connersville and a fifty-year member of the Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM. Survivors include his wife, Irene of Bedford; one daughter, Cheryl Moffett of Connersville, IN and one grandson, Kyle Moffett of Connersville, IN; one sister, Laverne White of Indianapolis and one sister-in-law, Ilene Houpt of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Burnettia Denny and one brother, Stanford Ray. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, May 20th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Bob Kirkman officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 19th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
