Obituary of Gerald Wayne Ray
Bedford Gerald Wayne (Gabe) Ray, 66, of 303 19th Street, Bedford, died suddenly at 12:05 am on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at his residence.
Born July 31, 1937 in Bedford, he was the son of Otis and Frona (Ryan) Ray. He married Zelma Loafman and she survives. He retired as the owner of the A & B Trophy Shop in Bedford and was a member of the Leesville Cedar Lodge F & AM and the Eagles Lodge. He attended the First Assembly of God in Bedford.
Surviving with his wife, Zelma of Bedford are one son, Bruce Ray of Bedford; two daughters, Rhonda Trowbridge and Tina Taylor both of Bedford; one brother, Joe Ray of Bedford; two sisters, Dorothy Sampson of California and Norma Stewart of Greenwood; nine grandchildren, Jason Ray, Nicole Ray, Kiyha Chastain, Kayze Gilstrap, Shandy Blackwell, Stephanie Taylor, Katelyn Taylor, Misty Ray and Melanie Ray; seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dale and Robert Ray and one sister, Margaret Cassidy. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, February 13th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor John Dodd and Chris Stubbs officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 12th and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
