Obituary of Lillian Katherine Ray

Columbus, IN Katherine Ray, 83, of 4111 26th Street, Columbus, IN, formerly of the Fayetteville area, died at 9:50 am on Friday, July 11, 2008 at the Columbus Health and Rehabilitation Center in Columbus. Born November 18, 1924 in Fayetteville, she was the daughter of Oba Dale and Ruby (Rainey) Pierce. She married J. Warren Ray on November 4, 1942 and he survives. She was a homemaker and a member of the Fayetteville Baptist Church and A.A.R.P. Survivors include her husband, J. Warren, of Columbus; one daughter, Teresa Norris and her husband, Rondell of Columbus; two grandsons, Adam Norris, Kyle Norris and his wife, Amy all of Columbus; two great grandchildren, Caitlyn and Ashlan both of Columbus; two sisters, Alice Green of Sweetser, IN and Norma Doty of Bedford; one step-brother, Lowell Jones of Muncie, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Robert, Luther, Lester and Vaughn Pierce; step-father, Cecil Jones; one sister, Jane Embach; two step-brothers, Verdis and Harold Jones. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 15th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Byron Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Tuesday, July 15th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
