Obituary of James Randolph
East Oolitic, James Ollie Randolph, 83, of 39 Meridian Street in East Oolitic, died at 2:00 am on Saturday, Feb. 25th at his residence.
Born on January 30, 1923 in Casey County, Kentucky, he was the son of Elmer and Carlona (Luttrell) Randolph. He married Lucille Tow of Shoals in 1942 and she survives. He attended Needmore School and then retired from General Motors in 1982. He was a member of the East Oolitic Community Church and UAW #440. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army.
Surviving with the wife, Lucille of East Oolitic, are two sons: Larry Wayne Randolph and his wife, Rita of Bedford, Jim Kenneth Randolph and his wife, Linda of Bedford; two daughters: Debra Kay Ritter and her husband, Jerry of Springville, Sherry Lynn Perkins and her husband, Jerry of Mooresville; eight grandchildren: Donny Wright, Robyn Williams, Troy Ritter, Trisha Patton, J.R. Randolph, Danielle Todd, Stacy and Megan Perkins; six great grandchildren: Danielle and D.J. Wright, Carlie Williams, Cheaney and Calie Ritter and Taylor Patton. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Arlis and Ernest Randolph; one sister: Oneda Randolph. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Feb. 28th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Revs. Merle and Nellie Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in Springville Christian Cemetery with military rites accorded at the grave by the American Legion Gillen Post #33 Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, Feb. 27th and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Tuesday, Feb. 28th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
