Obituary of Gordia Pritchett

Oolitic Gordia Leon Pritchett, 92, of 310 3rd Street, Oolitic, died at 8:05 pm on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Garden Villa in Bedford. Born November 16, 1915 in Greene Co., she was the daughter of Vernie and Maude (Jackson) Hamilton. She married Francis K. Pritchett on July 23, 1938 and he preceded her in death. She was the clerk-treasurer for the town of Oolitic from 1956 to 1980 and retired after twenty-four years. She was a member of the Owensburg Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, grandkids and friends. Survivors include one son, Patrick D. Pritchett and his wife, Janet of Bedford; one grandson, Denny D. Pritchett of Freetown; two granddaughters, Annette Pritchett Norrick of Oolitic and Bethany Pritchett of Bedford; one great granddaughter, Jessica Pritchett of Freetown; a sister, Naomi Parkes and her husband, Joe of Oolitic; a brother, Louie Dale Hamilton of Springville. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Francis Pritchett, Jr.; five sisters and two brothers. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 22nd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Clover Hill Cemetery.
