Obituary of John David Hirtz

Bedford John David Hirtz, 54, of 1611 11th Street, Bedford, sadly lost his battle with cancer and passed away on July 7, 2007. Born August 10, 1952, he was the son of Francis and Marcia (Adams) Hirtz. He married Bonnie Taylor and she survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving with the 101st Airborne Division out of Ft. Campbell, KY. He was a government contractor in Saudi Arabia during operation Desert Storm and was in Germany for over ten years. He finished his career as a sight supervisor working for Ralph Mynatt at R & T Trenching. He enjoyed golf, billiards, boating and fishing. He was a proud member of the Bedford Boat and Sportsmans Club, the Eagles and Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Surviving is his wife, Bonnie, who he affectionately called Bo of Bedford; his parents, Francis and Marcia Hirtz of Bedford; three daughters, Shannon Tolson and Melanie Abalos both of Texas and Kristin Bell of Bedford; two sisters, Jeannie Bowen of Arkansas and Janet Viner of Oklahoma; one brother, Joe Hirtz of Needmore; ten grandchildren, Jacqulyn Taylor, Lauren Tolson, Shane, Ryan, Chloe and Landon Abalos, Mercedes and Dason Bell and one due later this year. Funeral Information Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 11th at the Green Hill Cemetery with Father Dan Hirtz officiating. Burial will follow. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 10th at the Day & Carter Mortuary where a rosary service will be conducted at 7:00 pm. View Video Tribute
