Obituary of Marjorie J. Plummer

Bedford Marjorie J. Plummer, 84, of 1723 N Street, Bedford, died on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born March 22, 1920 in Bedford, she was the daughter of James Earl and Claudia (Murray) Martindale. She married John Maurice Plummer and he preceded her in death. She was a 1937 graduate of Bedford High School and completed her masters degree in education at Indiana University. She was a teacher at Parkview Elementary School from 1955 to 1982. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Indiana University Alumni Assoc., Indiana Retired Teachers Assoc. and Tri Kappa Sorority. She served on the Bedford Library Board and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. Survivors include three children, John Plummer of Bedford, Carol Oberschmidt of Berlin, Germany and William Plummer of Herndon, VA; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 12th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Curtis Hurley officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 11th and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Tuesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
