Obituary of Enid Piper

Bedford Enid Piper, 97, of Bedford, died at 1:50 am on Monday, December 18, 2006 at her residence. Born June 19, 1909 in Martin Co., IN, she was the daughter of Grover and Ina (Martin) Chastain. She married Glen Piper on August 17, 1929 and he preceded her in death on January 16, 1997. She was a homemaker and a member of the Avoca Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Jeannine Piper of Bedford; one son, Jerry Glen Piper and his wife, Nancy of Bedford; three grandchildren, Vicki Seroussi of Connecticut, Jeffrey Piper of California and Alison Piper of Bedford; three step-grandchildren, Tally Melvin, Chad Lessig and LaVerne Butch Lessig all of Bedford; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one brother, Elmo Chastain; one sister, Roberta Baker of Bedford and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Jasper, John Douglas and Leland (Jack) Chastain and one sister, Mildred Borton. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 20th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Kyle Witmer and Rev. Bob Kirkman officiating. Entombment will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 19th and from 1:00 pm until the hour of service on Wednesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
