Obituary of Norman R. Pierce
Fayetteville Norman R. Pierce, 82, of Fayetteville, went to be with his Lord at 2:09 am on Monday, March 28, 2011.
Born September 19, 1928 in Bedford, he was the son of Elston and Charlotte (Allen) Pierce. He married June Staggs on May 20, 1950 and she survives. He retired as a mill worker from Indiana Limestone Co. in Oolitic and attended the Fayetteville Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and The Best Poptart. He was an avid reader who loved to read the Bible.
He will be loved and missed by his wife of sixty happy years, June; a daughter, Brenda Pyle and husband, Ray of Ft. Myers, FL; two brothers, Richard Pierce and James Pierce and wife, Ann all of Bedford; two sisters, Jane Kelly and Naomi Gillespie both of Bedford; three grandchildren, Sean Owens and wife, Jessica, and Destiny Watkins all of Ft. Myers, FL, Dathan Pyle and wife, Kristen of Lehigh Acres, FL; three great granddaughters, Jocelyn Watkins, Alexis and Brooklyn Pyle; two great grandsons, Skyler and Brenden Watkins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Deanna Delaney. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 31st in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Kenny Walden officiating. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 30th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
