Obituary of Edith Rose Bird Pierce

We will miss your bright smile but you will be forever in our hearts. Bedford Edith Rose Bird Pierce, 79, of Bedford, passed away on February 26, 2005 at the Westview Manor Health Care Center. Born May 31, 1925 in West Baden, she was the daughter of Heber and Oma (Brown) Bird. She married Ralph Brosmer in 1945. Ralph was killed that same year in an accident at work. She had been married several other times, but was single for many years before her stroke and move into the nursing home in September 2002. She loved people and camping and playing BINGO. She was a member of the Eagles, Moose Lodge and Rebecca Lodge-Odd Fellows. She took special delight in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In the later years she especially enjoyed the time she got to spend with the great grandchildren. She is survived by one brother and his wife, Donald and Jean Bird of French Lick, IN; four of her children, Monta Brosmer of Mountain Home, ID, Paula Wigley of Bedford, IN, Mark Barnes of Dallas, TX and Gregory Barnes of Garland, TX; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Heber and Oma Bird, husbands, Ralph Brosmer and Paul Barnes; one son, Kevin Pierce and two brothers, William Bird and Heber Bird, Jr. Funeral Information Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 4th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Reno Bates officiating. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her friends and all of the special caregivers for the wonderful care she received after her stroke.
