Obituary of Gertrude Mae Pierce

Bedford- Gertrude Mae (Snow) Pierce, 88 of 1917D Street died at 2:15 pm on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at her residence. Born December 28, 1917, in Lawrence County she was the daughter of Ora and Bertha (Gaines) Snow. She married Wayne R. Pierce on September 23, 1941 and he survives. She was a member of Faith Mission Church in Bedford. Surviving with her husband is one son: David Pierce and his wife Donna of Bedford; one grandson Drew Pierce and his wife Brandy of Melbourne, FL; two great grandsons Bryce and Connor Pierce of Melbourne, FL; also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Wayne Pierce, Jr., two sisters Frances Fields and Edith Ellison, and four brothers Ralph, Charles, Walter, and William Snow. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 19 from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Leonard Sankey and Rev. J. Stevan Manley officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 18 at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
