Obituary of Charles E. Pendley

Bedford Charles E. Pendley, 78, of 6200 State Road #158, Bedford, died at 8:30 pm on Thursday, September 15, 2005 at the Hospitality House in Bedford. Born March 25, 1927 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Perry and Louise (Rainey) Pendley. He married Mary Empson and she survives. He was retired from the Ford/Visteon plant in Bedford and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Fayetteville Baptist Church and IUE/CWA Union Local #84907. Surviving with his wife, Mary, is one son, Scott Pendley and his wife, Linda of Springville; one granddaughter, Stacy Pendley of Springville; two sisters, Phyllis Curren of Bedford and Marylee Davis of Anderson; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, and one sister, Ruth Fish. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Monday, September 19th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Kenny Walden officiating. Burial will follow in Fayetteville Church of Christ Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm on Sunday, September 18th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
