Obituary of Phyllis Elaine Payton

Bedford Phyllis Elaine (George) Payton, 65, of Bedford, went home to be with her Lord Jesus and her loving husband, Wade L. Payton at 5:55 pm on July 25, 2007 at the White River Lodge in Bedford. Born July 10, 1941 she was the daughter of Roscoe and Niola (Sims) George. Phyllis was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Believing in our Lord Jesus Christ, she was of the Nazarene Faith. She will be missed by her many friends and family. She is survived by one daughter, Niola Payton of Bloomington; two step-daughters, Ann Sharum and her husband, Bernie of Tennessee, Eva Bagley and her husband, Terry; one sister, Connie Covey and her husband, Rick of Norman, IN; one brother, Tim George of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Rainie Richardson, Faith Justice Brown, Tara Marie Sanders, Torri Rae Covey and Leeona Elaine Covey; two step-grandchildren, Lacy Sharum and Jason Cobb; two great grandchildren, Elizah Taylor and Braelyn Elaine Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of thirty-seven years. Funeral Information There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on August 4th at 3:00 pm at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1401 22nd Street, Bedford, with Rev. Claude Chastain officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Donations Information Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
