Obituary of George E. Barrett

Bedford George Barrett, 77, of Bedford, died at 2:53 pm on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at his residence. Born May 13, 1934 in Orleans, IN, he was the son of Everett and Edith (Giles) Barrett. He married Sally Moat on December 1, 1956 and she preceded him in death. He was a retired utility worker and retired from Carpenter Body Works after forty-one years. He was of the Methodist faith and loved auto racing and watching his grandchildren participate in sports. Survivors include one son, Edward Barrett and wife, Kimberly of Bedford; two daughters, Cheryl Sanders and husband, Kenny of Mitchell, Diane Stevens and husband, Joe of Bedford; four sisters, Norma Radcliff, Ruth King and husband, Ron, Kathy Condra and husband, Joe all of Paoli, Brenda Albright and husband, Jerry of French Lick; four grandchildren, Kasey Barrett Jackson, Logan Barrett, Lane Barrett and Dustin Dyer; four step-grandchildren, Evan and Morgan Sanders, Melissa Hilkey and Jeremy Stevens; three great grandchildren, Alexander, Jovi and Olivia Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother-in-law, Raymond Radcliff. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 1st in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Kenny Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Orange Co. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, March 31st at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
