Obituary of Alberta H. Payne

BedfordAlberta H. Sproles Payne, 84, passed away in Titusville, Fl where she had resided for the past nine months. She was a former resident of Cambridge Square , Plaza Drive in Bedford. She was the daughter of Sam and Nellie (France) Smith born on April 30, 1922 in Brightshake, KY. She was an employee of Kennedy Home in Martinsville, IN years ago worked for Poes Restaurant and was a homemaker, a member of Gulletts Creek Baptist Church and attended Ooltic Baptist Church. Surviving her are three sons: Dennis Sproles and his wife, Priscella of Williams, IN; Chester Sproles II and his wife, Karen of Martinsville, IN and Boyd Sproles and his wife, Connie of Hollywood, FL; two daughters: Marlene Miller and her husband, Norman Duke of Bedford and Eleanor Williams and her husband, Marvin of Titusville, FL; One brother: Morris A. Smith and his wife, Shirley of Richmond, IN; 14 Grandchildren: Mark and Mickey Miller of Bedford, IN; Lisa Miller Nelson of Knoxville, Tennessee; Jeanie England of Martinsville, IN; Jane Sproles of Martinsville, IN; Chet Sproles III of Fishers, IN; Tony Sproles and Brian Clines both of Casper, WY; Lori Bordner of Haysville, NC; Danny Williams of Mississippi; Tim Williams of Titusville, FL; Angela Buffaloe of Rockledge, FL; Deanna Sproles of Bedford, IN and Dawn Edmundson of Chicago, IL; 25 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. At the time of her death she was married to Charles Payne and he resides in Titusville, FL She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Chester Sproles, one son in infancy, one granddaughter, one great granddaughter, three sisters: Dorothy Wagers, Marie Grubb and Goldie Asher and four brothers: Edwin Smith, Alton Smith, Wilton Smith and Lawrence Smith. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 11th from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Don Phillips and Rev. Lewis Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Saturday at Day & Carter Mortuary from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of the service. View Video Tribute
