Obituary of Geraldine Padgett
Bedford-Geraldine Flossie Padgett, 86, of Bedford died at 10:49 am on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.
Born June 16, 1926 in Lawrence County she was the daughter of Joseph Elliot and Martha (Ingle) Haws. She was a graduate of Shawswick High School with the class of 1944. She married Harold Padgett on May 2, 1944 at the Free Methodist Church by the Rev. Joseph Black. She worked 30 years for Sarkes Tarzian, and later worked at the Westview Nursing Home. She was a member of the Leatherwood Christian Church and also a member of the Ludeans ladies group.
Survivors include one son: Steven Joe Padgett of Bedford; one brother: Kenneth Haws and his wife Erma of Bedford; two nieces: Susan Haws Brennan and her husband John of Mooresville, Melanie Haws Hacker and her husband Joe of Bedford; four great nieces, four great nephews, three great- great nieces, three great-great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers: William Henry Haws, and Jimmy Neil Haws. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Monday June 10th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Sherman Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Leatherwood Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 9th.
