Obituary of Charles H. Pace

BedfordCharles H. Pace, 73, of Bedford and formerly of Greensburg and Princeton, passed away at 5:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 11th at his residence. Born on November 17, 1937 in Bedford, he was the son of Homer Pace and Bessie (Stigall) Pace. He joined the PSI Energy Company in 1959 as a meter reader and promoted to line working foreman in 1968. In October 1972 he was promoted to District Superintendant in the Greensburg Area and then promoted to District Manager of the Princeton area in 1979, where he worked until his retirement on December 31, 1989. Charles was an active member of the First Christian Church of Bedford where he had served as an Elder and was involved with numerous committees. He was a Veteran serving in the Army and retired a Major from the Indiana National Guard in 1979. He was a member of the American Legion Gillen Post #33 and Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM. Charles married Donna K. Holley on October 1, 1960 and she survives. Surviving with his wife of Bedford, are his son, Brian C. Pace and his wife, Mary of Bedford; his daughter, Debra K. Burke of Fishers; four grandchildren, Holley Pace, David Pace, Austin Burke and Brianna Burke; his brother, Jesse D. Pace and his wife, Naomi; two sisters, Frona Taylor and her husband, Herman and Margaret Siedl and her husband, Roger all of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Leo (Shorty) Pace Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 14th from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Bob Dailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Gillen Post #33. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 13th from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Day & Carter Mortuary. Donations Information In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bedford First Christian Church or the Bloomington Hospital Hospice.
