Obituary of Jack D. Pace
Jack D. Pace, 72, of 204 Nikirk Lane, Oolitic, died at 8:30 pm on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born June 11, 1937 in Bedford, Jack was the son of Morrell and Ruby (Terrell) Pace. He married Ruth Gilbert on February 8, 1958. He retired from General Motors as a fork truck driver. Jack was also a cattle farmer and loved his farm. He was also an avid dirt track racing fan and a member of UAW Local #440 and the American Angus Association.
Survivors include his wife Ruth of Oolitic; three children, Pam Korvela of Bedford, Sandy Young and her husband Marty of Norman, Dennis Pace and his wife Heather of Bedford; seven grandchildren, Kama Korvela, Jennifer Young, Marty Young Jr., Kray Korvela, Kody Korvela, Landrey Pace, Jack Pace; two great grandchildren, Cole Darlage and Claire Young; two brothers, Roy Pace and his wife Mary of Bedford, Morrell Pace Jr. of Indianapolis; two sisters, Doris Bunch and her husband Leon of Bedford, Nancy Pace of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 3rd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Marty Speer officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 2nd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
