Obituary of Juanita P. Owens

Bedford Juanita P. Owens, 79, of Bedford, died at 11:55 am on Monday, May 14, 2007 at the Stonebridge Health Campus. Born July 8, 1927 in Jackson Co., she was the daughter of Herman Russell and Amy (Lutz) Louden. She married Bernard William (Bill) Owens on June 28, 1947 and he preceded her in death on January 4, 1999. She and her husband owned O & S Painting Contractors for thirty years and retired in 1993. She worked at Jeffs Shoe Store for thirty years and at Walter Louden Produce. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bedford where she served as a deaconess and church volunteer. She was a charter member of a local Euchre Club since 1953. Juanita loved spending time with her family. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Hacker and her husband, Tom of Bloomington, Nancy Battaglia and her husband, Frank of Bedford; five grandchildren, Elena Isenhower and her husband, Jon of Lebanon, Eric Kramer and his wife, Cristine of North Carolina, Bryan Kramer of Colorado, Nick Battaglia and his wife, Brandi of Bedford, Trisha Battaglia of Bedford; three great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Lou Sheetz and her husband, Bill of Pennsylvania; one brother, Flay Louden and his wife, Nancy of Bedford and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Norma Jefferies; two brothers, Walter and Wayne Louden. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 18th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Dr. Kregg Burris officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 17th , and also from 12:00 until the hour of service Friday, May 18th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
