Obituary of Jeanne M. Osborn

Bedford Jeanne M. Osborn, 82, of Bedford died Wednesday, December 3, 2003 in Bedford. Born December 7, 1920 in Greenwood, MS, she was the daughter of George Earl and Sylvia Claire (Matchett) Moss. She married Dr. Samuel E. Osborn, Jr. on May 28, 1944 and he survives. She was a homemaker and a graduate of LaPorte High School, Christian College of Columbia, MO and the Chicago Art Institute. While at Christian College, she was active in many music organizations and played the harp for the college symphony. Bedford activities included founding and charter member of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee, Psi Iote Xi, Roundtable, Bedford Cum Libris, founding member of The Bedford Little Theatre and was a set designer for twenty years. She was involved in the Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and PTA. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Bedford since 1952. Surviving with her husband are one son, Samuel E. Osborn, III and his wife, Pamela G. of Atlanta, GA; one daughter, Susan J. King and her husband, Ronald N. of Versailles, KY; five grandchildren, Samuel E. Osborn, IV and his wife, Joey, J. Joseph Osborn and his wife, Elizabeth, Hannah Claire Osborn, Abigail Christine King and Amanda Marie King. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 6th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Bob Dailey officiating. Entombment will follow in Cresthaven Mausoleum. Friends may call from 1:00 pm until the hour of service on Saturday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
