Obituary of Harold C. Norman

Bedford Harold C. Norman, 83, of 487 W. Pleasant Run Road, Bedford died at 8:20 am at the Bloomington Hospital. He was born October 13, 1920 in Lawrence County, IN to Earl and Eva (Sowder) Norman. He married Naomi R. Turner on November 1, 1941 and she survives. He was an active member of the Demoratic Party, a retired Optician from Dr. Reuters office after thirteen years and a Veteran Service officer for Lawrence County for four years. Prior to this he was a meat cutter for twenty years. He was a member of Meadows Church of God, was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army in which he was wounded and received the Purple Heart in the Normandy Invasion. He was a life member of DAV. Surviving are the wife, Naomi of Bedford, two sons: Alan H. Norman and his wife Lisa of Bedford, Don Norman and his wife, Seigrid of Tuscon, AZ, eight grandchildren: Gary Norman, Kelly Norman, Lisa Ann Eagans, Travis Alan Norman, Tevin Earl Norman, Amy Stevens, MegAnn Norman, MaryEllen Norman, eleven great grandchildren, five brothers, Millard Norman, Heltonville, Robert Norman, Bedford, Paul Norman, Unionville, Keith Norman, Conroe, TX, Larry Norman, Heltonville, three sisters, Helen Richardson, Unionville, JoAnn Bailey and Colleen Perry, both of Bedford, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Roy and Dale Norman. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at 1:00 pm at the Meadows Community Church with Rev. Luther Keeton and Dirus Dustin officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadows Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the grave by the American Legion Post #33.
