Obituary of Violet M. Nickless

Bedford Violet M. Nickless, 91, of Bedford, died at 9:15 am on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Westview Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Bedford. Born July 2, 1920 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of James C. and Eva (Johnson) Rothenberger. She married Charles Nickless in May of 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1967. She had worked at M. Fine and Sons and at NWSC Crane. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Survivors include two sons, Charles L. Nickless of Palmyra, PA and Bruce Nickless of Oolitic, IN; two daughters, Katie Voorhaar of Berkley Springs, WV and Janice Bunch of Bedford; one niece, Martha Harrington of Beech Grove, IN; twenty grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Karen Nickless and a brother, James V. Rothenberger. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 15th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Stephen DeLong officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 14th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
