Obituary of Avis June New

Oolitic Avis (June) New, 75, of 705 Lafayette Ave., Oolitic, died at 1:08 pm on Monday, March 21, 2011 at Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford. Born July 24, 1935 in Oolitic, she was the daughter of Carl and Ann May (Webb) Fowler. She married Donald K. New on June 26, 1954 and he preceded her in death on August 24, 2010. She retired from NWSC Crane and was a member of the Oolitic Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Surviviors include a son, Tim New and wife, Patty of Oolitic; a daughter, Lisa Sanders and husband, Jerry of Martinsville; a daughter-in-law, Lisa New of Greenwood; ten grandchildren, Jeremy, Zachary, Brady and Rose New, Caleb, Riley and Seth New, and Joel, Jared and Hannah Sanders; two great grandchildren, Gracie and Zane New. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one son, Jim New. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 24th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 23rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
