Obituary of Beula Faye Moore

Bedford Beula Faye Hatfield Moore, 95, of Bedford, died at 7:01 am on Friday, May 18, 2007 at Westview Manor Nursing and Rehab. Center. Born November 17, 1911 in Avoca, IN, she was the daughter of John Endlesy and Ida Mae (Engle) Hatfield. She had been employed as a secretary and doctors assistant working for the Albert Teachers Agency in Chicago from 1939 to 1947. In Bedford, she worked for Dr. Smallwood from 1948 to 1958 along with Dr. Benham from 1950 to 1952 and with Dr. Kasting from 1954 to 1966. She also worked in Bloomington from 1966 to 1968. She was employed at NWSC Crane from 1968 until her retirement in 1981. Beula was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bedford, the Business and Professional Womens Club, the First United Methodist Wesleyan Circle, N.A.R.F.E. and the American Assoc. of Retired People. She was a teacher of piano from 1926 to 1999. She was the pianist at the Avoca Baptist Church, then for the Chicago First Baptist Church and later for the Bedford Baptist Church from 1950 to 1978. Survivors include a granddaughter, Heather Dawn Thoroman of Bedford; several cousins; a son-in-law, David Thoroman of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Sharon Kay Thoroman and one sister, Florence Hatfield Wilson. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 22nd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Tim Ahlemeyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Bennett Cemetery in Avoca. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, May 21st at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
