Obituary of Esther S. Mitchell

Bedford Esther S. Mitchell, 91, of 105 Heltonville Road East, Bedford, died at 7:55 pm on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at the Hospitality House in Bedford. Born September 12, 1915 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Ed and Ethel (Sowder) Stipp. She was a school teacher for forty-three years in various schools in Lawrence County, mainly at Fayetteville. She was a member of the Pleasant Run Methodist Church, A.A.R.P. and Retired Lawrence County Teachers Assoc. She married Glen D. Bunk Mitchell and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1970. Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Mitchell of Bedford; one son, Glen E. Mitchell of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Mary Bundy and one brother, John Stipp. Funeral Information Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 30th at the Fayetteville Church of Christ Cemetery with Rev. Kenny Walden officiating. Burial will follow. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 29th and from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm on Wednesday, May 30th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
