Obituary of Mabel L. Mitchell
Bedford Mabel L. Mitchell, 82, a resident of the Hospitality House, formerly of Butterfly Lane, Bedford, died at 11:18 am on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at the Hospitality House.
Born October 21, 1922 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Hovie and Lula Mae (Baker) Kern. She married Chester C. Mitchell and he preceded her in death. She formerly was employed at Wamps Restaurant and Hobbys Inn in Bedford and was a member of the Old Union Christian Church.
Survivors include one son, Randy Mitchell and his wife, Teresita of Fayetteville; three daughters, Irene Henderson and her husband, Tiny, of Tunnelton, Rhoda (Pat) McKnight and her husband, Homer of Mitchell, Sherry Potts and her husband, Larry of Illinois; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Alice Stevens of Bedford; three brothers, Frank Kern of Williams, Herschell Kern of Mitchell and Merle Kern of Versailles. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Olive and Pauline; four brothers, Glen, Tommy, Wendall and Von. Funeral Information
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, January 20th at the Fayetteville Church of Christ Cemetery with Rev. Merla Craig officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 19th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
