Obituary of Michael Ray Barger

Michael Ray Barger, 54, of Bloomington, died at 10:15 pm on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Michaels death was caused by a freak accident when him and his cousin was cutting a tree limb out of a down tree and it fell and struck him in the face and knocked him out. Born December 27, 1955 in Bloomington, he was the son of Harry Thomas Barger and Sharon E. (Melvin) Pate. Mike loved to help people and he loved his wild life animals. Survivors include his mother Sharon E. Pate and step-father Harold Wayne Pate of Bloomington; three brothers, Allan B. Barger, Harry T. Barger and wife Barbara, and Paul K. Barger all of Bloomington; two step-sisters. Crystal E. Duva and husband Scott of Alamo Gordo, NM and Tammy S. Ball and husband Michael R. Ball all of Bloomington; two step-brothers, Danny W. Pate of Tucson, AZ, and Thomas E. Pate and wife Jennifer of Greenwood; his aunt Norma Merhring and uncle Bob of Martinsville, aunt Genieve Martin Dale and uncle Kenny of Florida, uncle Ralph Barger and wife Teresa of Bloomington, uncle Jerry Melvin and wife Ruth of Bedford, uncle Phil Melvin and wife Brenda of Bedford and several nieces and nephews. Mike is preceded in death by his father, Harry Thomas Barger who passed away on December 13, 2006. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 14th at the Body of Christ Fellowship Church in Bedford with Bro. John Turpin officiating. Burial will follow in Dishman Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00pm on Tuesday, July 13th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 10:00 am until time of service on Wednesday at the church.
